Bowling Balls

I think bowling is a great activity for kids. It’s an activity most kids can do even if they have some physical challenges to deal with.

All three of my children started bowling when they were fairly young. My oldest child started when he was six years old. My middle child and youngest child both started when they were five years old.

You will hear people talk about your approach to the lane. This is a subject that people are always talking about. Do you use a 4 step or a 5 step approach? How do you decide which one is for you?

Bowling can be a game of emotions. If you let your emotions affect your attitude toward what you are doing, more than likely, it will impact the outcome of your game (this is actually true in most aspects of life as well).

There are some shots in the game of bowling that most people will agree are just a pain in the backside to try to make. They may not all agree on the order of difficulty, which is why we’re not going to list these in any particular order except for the one that everyone agrees is the hardest, but they do agree that these shots give them more fits than a night out with a nun.

Having a good bowling ball is the equivalent of having the right key to your car. You can’t use someone else’s car key to drive your own car can you? I didn’t think so. The same goes for the game of bowling - it’s better to have a ball that suits you than using a ball that is too heavy or too light.

A bowler who has the ability to bowl swing is an important asset in any cricket team as swing bowling is a great way to baffle a batman, add pressure and take wickets. The swing bowler has the ability to move the ball in the air either away from the batsman or in towards the batsmen. The swing is created by holding the cricket ball in a specific way so that when it is released from the hand the varying levels of air resistance combined with the position the seam is directed causes the ball to swing in the air.

Wearing a bowling shirt will make you feel like a real bowling player, doesn’t it? Of course! You can have that look on your face that would probably mean, don’t mess with me I’m a bowler, and with one eyebrow raised. Having that thought makes me smile because I can relate to myself with a similar scenario. Bowling shirts can be a distinguishing factor for bowlers.
